A.J. Hess

One of two players returning to the Herd, A.J. Hess will look to shoot the lights out in Oshkosh throughout the 2019-20 G League season.

We only saw Hess scratch the surface as he arrived to the Herd and the G League as a whole after they acquired his returning rights from the Canton Charge in early February of last season. In his 17 appearances for the Herd last year, Hess averaged 7.2 points on .365/.333/.923 shooting splits, 1.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists over 25.7 minutes per contest.

With 70 percent of Hess’ 115 field goal attempts coming from beyond the three-point line, Hess gave the Herd a much needed shooting threat from the perimeter, considering they ranked dead-last in three-point efficiency throughout the G League last year.

And with the Herd looking to open up their offense to fit the style of their parent club, perhaps the added spacing and shooting threats like the Herd have on their roster will unlock Hess’ shooting touch more frequently throughout this season.
