1. Stand pat

This is the easiest of all moves to make, and doing nothing, as they are at the moment, may just be the answer for the Bucks.

Since the Middleton injury, the Bucks are 3-0, with both wins coming against below-average divisional rivals.

In his second career start, Donte DiVincenzo bounced back after a rough first game, scoring 14 points against the Pacers, and has since followed that up with 15 points against the Bulls. Sterling Brown has contributed nicely as well over that span.

This current team has depth, and it has begun to show in the past few games. Perhaps giving current players such as Sterling Brown, Pat Connaughton, and D.J. Wilson more minutes is the right way to handle things in the absence of Middleton, rather than scouring for a replacement.

Certainly that will be the patient approach the Bucks should, and will, take while things are working, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising if they continue to trust in what has been their approach for over a year now even if further adversity strikes.

Given the stakes they’re facing this season, both in terms of the expectations to contend for a championship, and the need to convince Antetokounmpo to sign his supermax extension next summer, the Bucks need to consider all of the options available to them.

Luckily, with the combination of depth, roster flexibility, and assets at their disposal, they have multiple routes worth exploring, if needed.
