Don’t bring me down

Friday night served as the latest adventure in terms of the Bucks undergoing a second half letdown that opened the door for the Cavaliers to threaten the Bucks’ control of the contest.

Unfortunately, it’s been an early theme for the Bucks this season and especially over this 10-game winning streak and it was Cleveland finding a shooting spark from three-point range that served as their basis behind their comeback push. Ten of the Cavaliers’ 17 total triples came over the course of their 42-point third quarter, which is the fifth 40-point period the Bucks have allowed through their first 19 games this season.

And opposing three-point shooting has been at the center of the Bucks’ recent opponents giving them a run for their money over the last week or so as The Athletic’s Eric Nehm pointed out.

On the season, the Bucks’ opponents are shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc, good for 24th in the NBA. At the same time, the Bucks are allowing the second-most three-point attempts per game in the league, standing behind only the Houston Rockets and their opponents are hitting 38.5 percent from both above the break spots so far this season.

We all know there is a bit of luck involved, but it continues that trend the Bucks have allowed from their defending of three-point line for the second straight year, especially on a league-leading volume of attempts.
