Giannis’ health
Having sat out Wednesday’s home win over the New Orleans Pelicans, one of the big questions heading into Friday’s game will be whether Giannis Antetokounmpo is healthy enough to suit up and resume his incredible season.
That matchup against the Pelicans marked the first game that the reigning MVP has missed in the 2019-20 season to date.
Perhaps that shouldn’t have come as that much of a surprise from the perspective of Antetokounmpo being due a night off, but by all accounts it seems as if Wednesday’s missed game wasn’t simply about rest.
Ruled out with right quad soreness, Antetokounmpo reportedly was unable to go through shootaround prior to that Pelicans’ game due to the soreness. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether that discomfort will have subsided in time for Friday night.
Bud said the soreness in Giannis’ right leg was too much for him to go through shootaround today. They’ll err on the side of caution with the injury. Ersan Ilyasova will start.

Either way, if the Bucks were simply being cautious on Friday, they may well opt to be so again on Friday considering that Milwaukee is facing a back-to-back with Cleveland visiting on Saturday.
