Bench mark

All night long, the Bucks’ depth off the bench was a weapon the Lakers simply couldn’t match or neutralize.

Milwaukee’s bench unit put down 34 points to the Lakers’ four, with the latter number now standing as the lowest amount of bench points an NBA team has scored so far this 2019-20 season.

It was the work of George Hill who was responsible for the big lift the Bucks got from their reserves for the night as he posted 21 points on 12 shots (3-for-5 from deep, 4-for-4 from the foul line), three rebounds, one assist, one turnover, and was a +7 in over 27 minutes of burn.

The 33-year-old really kickstarted the Bucks’ offense out of the early funk and was the first player to reach double figures, which he did during the first quarter after hitting a pair of threes and getting to the basket as well as the free throw line. Hill continued to guide the Bucks’ offense from that point onwards with timely buckets, and attack the Lakers’ interior defense.

As he continually shows out throughout his time in Milwaukee, Hill raises his game for the most critical moments and/or games and Thursday night was no different in that regard.
