Brook’s follow-up

After putting up 14 points, seven rebounds, seven blocks, and most importantly in his case, going 4-of-8 from deep on Saturday in New York, Brook Lopez delivered an equally excellent follow-up on the second half of a back-to-back.

Just 24 hours after I was writing in the Knicks’ equivalent of this column about how it could hopefully represent a turning point for Brook’s offensive struggles, he kicked on with another brilliant performance to give real hope of him turning the corner.

Brook went even better than the night before by scoring 17 points on 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from deep, with eight rebounds and two blocks also added in for good measure.

Lopez’s trademark long triples were certainly on display too, as he was knocking down those shots with a kind of effortlessness that hadn’t really been seen this season up until this weekend.

If Brook can maintain this kind of form, the Bucks will receive another welcome boost. Lopez was arguably the most significant piece of the Bucks’ machine not quite firing yet this season, and now he’s heating up, the rest of the NBA should be very concerned.
