Western Conference. 14-20. SAN ANTONIO SPURS. B+. The Spurs deserve credit for adjusting their game and at least trying to counter so many of Milwaukee’s most notable strengths. They came out gunning from distance with an uncharacteristic frequency, and although that ultimately wore off, it did give them a footing they may never even have had otherwise. Also worth highlighting is the physicality with which the Spurs defended Giannis. Gregg Popovich had clearly instructed his players to foul Antetokounmpo and force him to get his points at the line, but unfortunately for them, Giannis was very much up to that challenge on this occasion. The Spurs never make for an easy opponent, and if they play like this again on Monday night, Milwaukee will have to work really hard if they’re to win again.
