MVP at his most efficient

While he did not stuff the stat sheet in his usual fashion, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was relentless in the way he carried his team to victory Saturday night.

Playing nearly 29 minutes of action, Antetokounmpo finished with 32 points on 12 shots (3-for-7 from deep, 15-for-18 from the free throw line), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and was a +6 on the night.

Antetokounmpo got his night going by canning in his first of three triples, and that was the source of his early offense as the Spurs regularly packed the paint and were willing to let the reigning MVP beat them from three and at the free throw line.

Eventually, Antetokounmpo broke open the Spurs’ defensive strategy all throughout the third quarter as he regularly got downhill to get to the charity stripe where he finished with the most made free throws he’s had in a game this season, per NBA.com/stats. Along with that, Antetokounmpo finished with the fewest paint points he’s had in a contest this season.

It was a different kind of night for Antetokounmpo, but it was a showing that still ended in a winning result.
