Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things to watch for in visit to Sacramento Kings
All the Kings’ Men
The Kings were the feel-good story of the 2018-19 season and underwent significant changes with free agent additions like Trevor Ariza, Dewayne Dedmon, Cory Joseph as well as re-signing Harrison Barnes. The same goes on the coaching front where they shockingly moved on from head coach Dave Joerger to bring on Luke Walton.
Now, all of the goodwill and positive momentum that was developed last year appears to have run out this season as the Kings have battled through injuries, discontent and dysfunction throughout Walton’s first year in charge.
As of now, the Kings have won three of their four games in the new year after previously enduring through an eight-game losing streak that helped them to plummet to outside of the playoff picture.
Even so, the uneasiness that surrounds the Kings remains, whether it’s Dedmon taking his trade demands to the public (and being fined for it, as a result) or newly-extended shooting guard Buddy Hield being frustrated with the apparently lack of trust the coaching staff has in him during clutch game situations, which he subsequently apologized for.
This has been an increasingly familiar season for all Kings fans and while there is certainly time to rectify what has been a very underwhelming campaign, and under reasonably high expectations, there are key issues that must be resolved to end their long-standing playoff drought.
