Milwaukee Bucks: 5 trade targets to bolster roster before deadline

Robert Covington
After a promising start to the season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have gone downhill fast. With another likely trip to the lottery coming once again, they may look to trade valuable role players such as Robert Covington.
Covington is known for his stellar defense and occasional dynamic shooting from behind the arc, making him the perfect target for the Bucks. On the season, the 29-year-old is averaging 12.5 points on 44.1 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from deep. Though his three-point percentage is down from previous years, perhaps an improved situation like Milwaukee could help.
A guy like Covington can make an immediate impact on any team, making it no surprise that the Bucks reportedly may already have an interest in him. Though the offensive numbers are decent, the defensive end is where Covington has particularly shined over the years.
Totaling 63 steals and 36 blocks, the forward has been doing a little bit of everything as the versatile defender he is. Adding a player like this to the roster would only further bolster Milwaukee’s already dominant defense.
Set to make almost $12 million over the next three seasons, Covington’s contract could potentially allow him to become a vital piece of this team moving forward, although adding additional long-term salary may not be ideal. Still, adding a veteran defensive wing that also possesses a well-rounded offensive skillset could be a game changer for this team.
