Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things to watch for against rival Boston Celtics
By Adam McGee
Stuttering Celtics
Third in the East with a record of 27-12, the Celtics’ solid season to this point must be respected, and largely speaks to what they’re capable of as a team. What cannot be ignored, though, is just how much they’ve let their standards slip of late.
Almost half of the Celtics’ total losses have come in their last 10 outings, as they’ve only managed to navigate that stretch with a mediocre 5-5 record.
The Celtics haven’t defeated a single above .500 team during that spell, and have even lost to a couple of Eastern Conference cellar dwellers who fall well below that mark.
The most recent of those defeats came on Wednesday night in a pretty surprising 13-point loss at home to the Detroit Pistons.
This doesn’t mean that the Celtics won’t find an extra gear through the motivation of facing the Bucks, but it does suggest Boston’s confidence may be a little fragile. A strong Bucks start on Thursday night, and Milwaukee may find they’re met with little resistance.
