Donte’s new peak

Donte DiVincenzo‘s career-high in scoring just seems to continue to edge upward every couple of games, which speaks volumes to the kind of form he finds himself in at the moment.

DiVincenzo’s latest high mark came on 6-of-11 shooting, and 4-of-6 from three-point range, for 19 points. Of course, DiVincenzo’s defense was also particularly impactful throughout the night, and he remains good for a couple of steals per game too.

The reliability of DiVincenzo’s defense means that what he can do on offense is really the crucial swing element in what he can ultimately achieve as a player.

In the six games since he was given a game off against the Spurs to rest, Donte is shooting 39.4 percent from deep on 5.5 attempts per game, and is just below 50-40-90 shooting splits overall.

With Wesley Matthews notably struggling of late, that burst from DiVincenzo has been important, and may only prove to be even more crucial as the season progresses. If Donte maintains this kind of standard, a much larger role may yet await him when the real business end of the campaign arrives.

The Bucks will hit the road again where they’ll next be in action on Saturday in the Big Apple against the Brooklyn Nets.
