All eyes on Giannis

Giannis Antetokounmpo is no stranger to the spotlight. At this point, he surely knows that on most nights he will be the primary reason why many of the fans will have come along to see the game. That may be even more true on this occasion.

Although the Hornets will have a home favorite in Frenchman Nicolas Batum, Antetokounmpo’s profile as a European star is considerably higher, and almost certainly a more notable draw on this occasion.

NBA Europe games are notable for fans from all around the continent traveling for a rare chance to see their favorite teams, players, and the game they love played on their side of the world, and this contest seems very unlikely to be an exception.

Expect a colossal Greek presence to be visible and vocal in AccorHotels Arena on Friday, along with a wider Bucks’ contingent from across Europe. At this point, it shouldn’t surprise anyone to find out the Bucks have become particularly popular in this part of the world.

Antetokounmpo will undoubtedly receive the brunt of that attention once again, though, and that might just give him a little extra motivation to put on a show.
