Middleton’s masterpiece

After Tuesday night, Khris Middleton’s place in the All-Star Game should no longer be up for debate.

With Giannis sitting out with a shoulder issue, Middleton’s shoulders were always going to have to take on an additional share of the responsibility for Milwaukee’s performance against Wizards, and he certainly proved up to that task.

Riding a red-hot night from three-point range, and an incredible touch and rhythm all across the floor, Middleton was allowed to cook for large spells by his teammates. The result was not just a career-high 51-point outing, but a remarkably efficient shooting performance in achieving that too.

Middleton finished at 16-of-26 from the field, while knocking down 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. As if that wasn’t enough, Middleton also added 10 rebounds, and dished out six assists to just two turnovers.

Worth highlighting coming out of the other side of the game of his life is that Middleton’s shooting splits now fall at .503/.432/.900 to go with his 20.2 points per game.

After so much debate and discussion over his contract last summer, Middleton is not just having the season of his life, but one of the standout seasons from any supporting star around the league.
