Wes finds his groove on the road

There haven’t been many rarer sights in Bucks games this year than seeing Wesley Matthews knock down shots away from Fiserv Forum, but he did exactly that on Tuesday night.

Having gone just 1-of-7 from deep over his last two home games even, and having endured a shakier spell more generally over the last couple of months, it was a very pleasant surprise to see Matthews hit the heights he did in New Orleans.

With his season averages still equating to Matthews shooting almost a full 10 percent worse from deep away from home than he does in Milwaukee, a breakout of this nature was timely, if completely unexpected.

In 28 minutes of action, Matthews scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

Those five makes matched Matthews’ season-high from a late November win against the Utah Jazz, and now the hope will be that the veteran can carry this form on for a little while longer.
