Rivals making moves

At this point it seems like the most likely deadline day outcome for the Bucks is that they stand pat and go into the back half of the season confident in what they already have in place.

If that transpires, the primary interest in the day from a Milwaukee perspective will center around what their rivals in the Eastern Conference, and those at the top of the West opt to do.

Wednesday night already represented a significant juncture on that front, as the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers both made moves that they’ll hope will help them to bridge the gap in the Eastern Conference standings, and beyond that in the playoffs.

The Heat have landed Andre Iguodala, and will send Justise Winslow to Memphis, while they continue to work on expanding that deal to also bring in Danilo Gallinari from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Meanwhile, Elton Brand predictably made his own deadline day deals, bringing in Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for multiple draft picks.

Whether teams such as the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Indiana Pacers also join in on the fun remains to be seen, while just as significant given the Bucks’ championship aspirations will be what business, if any, the Lakers and Clippers manage to get done on Thursday.
