Keeping a good thing going

For all of Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s dominance and consistency, the Bucks have benefited from an added boost of late as Khris Middleton has performed at the very peak of his powers.

As Brew Hoop’s Gabe Stoltz noted after the Bucks’ win over the Sixers, Middleton is now in the midst of a season-long streak of five consecutive games of 20 points or more, has only failed to hit that mark once in his last nine games.

Middleton has been scoring incredibly efficiently, and at a meaningful volume. As our own Dalton Sell detailed on Friday, what we’ve seen through the first week of February has essentially just been a continuation of what was an outstanding month of January for the two-time All-Star.

It goes without saying that the longer Middleton can sustain that play, the better it will be for the Bucks. It’s unrealistic to look for him to score 20 or more in every game, but if Middleton could maintain something close to that level of play for the remainder of the season, his confidence would then be sky-high for the playoffs.

The next step on that journey comes on Saturday, when Middleton will hopefully once again be a starring man.
