Giannis bouncing back

Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s standards are so incredibly high that when he has a game that’s even just a little below his best, it seems a response of some sort is just around the corner.

On that front, this could represent something of a double bounce back game for the reigning MVP.

Not only did Giannis struggle to an uncharacteristically inefficient 18 points on 17 shots in the Bucks’ Saturday evening win against the Magic, but he may well have some demons to exorcise from Milwaukee’s previous clash with Sacramento too.

That encounter on January 10 produced a season low in scoring for Antetokounmpo, as he could muster only 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting in a strangely passive contribution in what was a comfortable Bucks’ win overall.

Perhaps Antetokounmpo won’t be required to do too much for the Bucks again in this one, but you can’t help feeling like he’ll want to shake off those two previous efforts.

Particularly worth watching: Antetokounmpo failed to attempt a three-pointer in a game for the first time this season on Saturday in Orlando. That’s not a trend the Bucks will want to see continue to develop.
