Sliver of hope for Sterling

It’s been a down season on the whole for third-year Bucks wing Sterling Brown. But Monday night provided us a consistent outing that has been long awaited from the SMU product.

Brown emerged as the first substitute off the bench filling in for the struggling Ersan Ilyasova, something he would do for extended stretches throughout the night. And Brown filled in capably, most notably by hitting shots from outside to tie his season-high in triples. While Brown struggled to finish at the cup on a couple of occasions, he did put home a nice acrobatic lefty finish to put him into double figures for just the fourth time this season.

With the encouraging offensive performance, Brown paired all of that with his usual brand of hustle and energy, whether chasing down loose balls and rebounds and putting his body in front to contest shot attempts and or protect the rim.

All in all, Brown finished with 11 points on eight shots (3-for-5 from downtown), six rebounds, two assists as well as two steals, one turnover, one block and was a -1 over 23 and a half minutes of play.
