White Men Can’t Jump

So what exactly is Connaughton going to deliver against this field? His execution remains unknowable ahead of time, given the fact it’s not always a sure thing that impressive in-game dunking translates to the showman-like set pieces of the Dunk Contest.

Having said that, we do at least have hints of what Connaughton has up his sleeve, and he certainly looks to have the narrative elements under control.

Given that Connaughton has made no secret of his determination to prove the stereotypes wrong on Saturday night, it would be no surprise to see him play homage to the beloved 1992 film White Men Can’t Jump.

Were the Bucks and Connaughton tipping their hats to that with the video that they posted on Friday night, or were they just having a little fun?

Considering Bucks legend and current broadcaster Marques Johnson actually played Raymond in the movie itself, Connaughton could certainly have a trick or two up his sleeve if he opts to go this route.
