Take Pat Out To The Ball Game

Bucks fans are more than familiar with Pat Connaughton’s story at this point, but that likely doesn’t apply in quite the same way to more casual fans from around the NBA.

That means, for those tuning in and wondering why exactly Connaughton got a call for the Dunk Contest, it offers up a perfect opportunity for him to remind the world of his rare athletic gifts.

Connaughton was not only drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, but they retain his MLB rights to this day in the hopes that he may eventually switch over from the NBA to pro baseball.

That kind of two-sport crossover talent is incredibly rare, and Connaughton may well opt to play into that on Saturday in the basketball home of baseball player Michael Jordan.

Having recently put out a call on Twitter for Brewers star and 2018 NL MVP Christian Yelich to join him in Chicago, the evidence on Friday night tells us that Connaughton’s call was answered.

Of course, with Giannis Antetokounmpo likely to be sitting courtside, supporting his teammate, there are multiple directions Connaughton can take Yelich’s involvement too. How about having a pair of MVPs help him out?

Either way, Connaughton’s routine seems to have plenty of fun and entertaining ingredients already in place. Now, the hope for Bucks fans is that he can deliver on the night, and maybe even bring a trophy back home to Milwaukee.
