Milwaukee Bucks: Midseason grades for every player on the roster
By Adam McGee
Kyle Korver
For as in-demand as Kyle Korver was as a free agent in the summer, and for as much as his decision to play for the Bucks proved to be a real cause for celebration, it was still only natural to wonder just how much he’d be able to contribute.
Set to turn 39 on St. Patrick’s Day, Korver’s play had dropped off slightly with the Jazz last year, and it seemed entirely plausible that it could have been the start of a downward trend that wasn’t going to be possible for him to reverse.
As it’s turned out, even with Korver having gone through a couple of hot and cold spells throughout the season so far, the overall result has been undoubtedly positive.
Korver is shooting 40.7 percent from deep on a high volume of attempts, while he has also not been the kind of weak spot in the Bucks’ defense that many feared.
Milwaukee’s scheme certainly papers over some of the cracks that Korver could cause on other teams, while his anticipation and weakside defense remain as strong as ever, pleasantly surprising most Bucks fans.
Grade: B+
