Gotta clean it up

The Bucks’ offensive execution struggles were only multiplied with their miscues on the ball.

For the day, the Bucks accumulated 17 turnovers and the Hornets capitalized on such mistakes by scoring 21 points off of the Bucks’ mistakes.

Hornets head coach James Borrego threw extended half court traps and double teams to ratchet up the defensive pressure and really test the Bucks’ tertiary creators, especially when the Bucks rolled out all-bench lineups. And that only continues a trend we’ve seen from recent Bucks opponents like the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards as they had success throwing the Bucks off their rhythm for spurts.

The Bucks gained enough of a rhythm to avoid enduring through a meltdown, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that they will continue to face similar pressure as the season goes on and especially during the postseason. And being able to avoid shooting themselves in the foot with errors and cede key opportunities will be the big question in what remains this season.

The Bucks will be back at it Monday night when they take on the Miami Heat for a 6.30 p.m. central time tip-off.
