Accentuate the positives

The outlook is pretty grim for the Bucks heading into Monday’s clash with the Denver Nuggets.

With consecutive losses at their back for the first time this season, their superstar and team leader on the sidelines due to injury, and a second game of a back-to-back coming up at altitude against one of the West’s most talented teams, the odds are certainly stacked against the Bucks.

Still, there is no need to be overly defeatist and, in fact, it’s likely essential that the Bucks’ turn to optimism to fuel their efforts in Denver.

On that front, there’s no time to dwell on Sunday’s disappointing defeat to the Phoenix Suns, a game where the Bucks got off to a catastrophic start and essentially failed to muster any defensive resistance over the course of the game.

But heading into Denver, potentially low on energy, the Bucks should look to draw from the positive that was their offense in that loss. The Bucks played well after the first quarter, but also importantly found some long overdue shooting success.

Knocking down shots will be essential to any chance of victory on Monday, so playing up that element of Sunday’s game certainly seems worth reinforcing from Mike Budenholzer and his staff.
