Giannis Antetokounmpo

When Giannis Antetokounmpo was in the process of celebrating his 2019 Most Valuable Player award win, he pledged that he was only at 60 percent of his talent. It led to endless headlines and no shortage of conversation about whether it could possibly be true.

What we can say for sure months later is that Giannis has certainly taken another step forward this season, and it’s increasingly difficult to doubt anything he says.

Antetokounmpo’s season has not been without its difficulties, as he has endured some real struggles at the free throw line, and even with signs of progress with his jump shot that particular element of his game has been far from linear.

Dealing with even more attention than ever before, Giannis has continued to not just score at volume, but to largely maintain his incredible efficiency. On the defensive side, he remains as formidable as ever, and an MVP and Defensive Player of the Year double was certainly in play before the recent uncertainty emerged around the shape of the NBA season.

Much like Middleton, Antetokounmpo’s scoring and rebounding have both increased in spite of him playing fewer minutes over the course of the campaign too.

dark. Next. How would a Bucks band line up?

Maybe most importantly, Antetokounmpo continues to look more and more comfortable with his status in the NBA, and his role as the leader of this Bucks’ squad.
