1. Fri. Dec. 13, Milwaukee Bucks at Memphis Grizzlies

On a random Friday night in the middle of December, the Bucks played one of their most intriguing games of the season. The Bucks won 127-114.

If you hadn’t watched the game and only saw the final score, you wouldn’t have been surprised. It would’ve looked like another ho-hum Bucks win. However, anyone who saw this game knew how impressive the victory truly was.

The young Grizzlies, coached by former Bucks assistant, Taylor Jenkins, gave the Bucks nearly all they could handle in this game. With Ja Morant, the NBA’s likely Rookie of the Year, inactive, the Grizzlies relied on their second-year rising-star, Jaren Jackson Jr. Boy, did he come through.

Jackson Jr. had the best game of his young career, scoring 43 points while making nine three-pointers; both of which set career highs for him. He was totally and utterly on fire.

In the third quarter alone, Jackson Jr. went absolutely bananas. He scored 26 points and made 7 of his 9 threes.  At a certain point he just couldn’t miss, no matter what he was throwing up, as you can see in the video below.

It was a barrage reminiscent of a game early in LeBron James’ career against Milwaukee. I highly recommend you check out this video below. It’s a nice insight into the life of a 2009 Bucks fan.

What makes this the biggest standout game of the season for Milwaukee is that they were able to endure this barrage, on the road, and still come out on top.

Giannis Antetokounmpo showed his MVP level poise and absolutely took over the game in the fourth quarter. He said enough is enough, and went to work, scoring 17 of his 37 points in the fourth, helping the Bucks pull away for their 17th consecutive win.

It was one of those games that, in the grand scheme of things, wasn’t that important. The Bucks very easily could’ve rolled over after the third quarter and nobody would’ve blinked an eye, but Giannis never rolls over, so the team never rolls over.

It was a statement victory that only the most fanatical of Bucks fans will remember, but they will remember it fondly.
