Milwaukee Bucks: 5 biggest rivals over the next 5 years
By Dalton Sell
2. Brooklyn Nets
Unlike the rivalry with the Toronto Raptors, the Milwaukee Bucks’ rivalry with the Brooklyn Nets is yet to surface entirely. Over the course of the next five years, the Nets are not just going to be one of the premier teams in the Eastern Conference, but throughout the entire league.
The Nets currently sit in the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, but the team has a two-time NBA Finals MVP rehabbing from an Achilles injury on their bench named Kevin Durant. The two-time champion spent the past three seasons with the Golden State Warriors and elevated them to a near unbeatable level.
Durant will pair up with a longtime friend and six-time All-Star Kyrie Irving, which gives the Nets a genuine opportunity to make some noise. The duo both battled significant injuries this season, but if they come out next season firing on all cylinders, the Bucks could face a challenge like never before.
Antetokounmpo versus Durant has the potential to become one of the biggest rivalries in the NBA today, not just next year, but for many years to come. Although health remains questionable on Brooklyn’s end with their two star players, keep an eye on them come next season.
