Milwaukee Bucks: Ersan Ilyasova’s 3 best games so far this season
vs. Orlando Magic, Dec. 28
Just as he did against the Pelicans a couple of weeks earlier, Ilyasova again rose to the occasion when he received yet another spot start in place of Antetokounmpo.
Throughout the Bucks’ 111-100 victory over the Orlando Magic on December 28, Ilyasova put forth one of his best shooting performances from distance throughout his 12-year NBA career as he knocked in five of his six 3-point attempts throughout the night.
Those five triples from Ilyasova helped pick up the team’s overall shooting night and a middle of the road offensive performance by the Bucks’ lofty standards.
Ilyasova supplemented his scoring output by doing all of the little things, including his ability to corral many of the Magic’s misses on the defensive end and extend offensive possessions and fight the Bucks’ own misses on the other end. The latter certainly gave way to some impressive assists too as he finished with a season-high in that department.
The veteran forward collected 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting (5-of-6 from 3-point range), 14 rebounds, five assists, two turnovers, one block and was a +18 in 26-and-a-half minutes of action.
While Ilyasova’s role has certainly changed over the course of the 2019-20 season, hopefully he can add to his run of signature performances, provided the season continues at some point in time.
