12/16/19 vs. Dallas Mavericks

Riding a 17-game win streak at the time, the Milwaukee Bucks had a golden opportunity to extend it with a win versus the short-handed Dallas Mavericks. However, the Mavericks came out firing, which put Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to the test.

With a majority of their lineup having struggled throughout the game, Antetokounmpo put the team on his back and had one of his many MVP caliber performances. With a combined 23 points from the four other starters, Giannis erupted for a game-high 48 points in 34 minutes of action.

Antetokounmpo shot 18-for-31 from the floor in the game, which included a lackluster 1-for-6 from three-point range. Still, the MVP looked nearly unstoppable, as he continuously scored at will to keep Milwaukee in the game.

Scoring aside, Giannis added 14 rebounds and 4 assists to his 48 points, while also having performed well on defense with a block and steal each. No. 34’s stat stuffed night was not enough, however, as the Mavericks stunned the Milwaukee Bucks 120-116 and snapped their seventeen game win streak.

Loss or not, Antetokounmpo still showcased another MVP-like performance, as the Bucks fell just short of continuing their illustrious win streak. Even in defeat, this game versus the Mavericks is no doubt ranked as Giannis’ third-best game of the season.
