Reece Gaines

Like many players on this list, Reece Gaines‘ Wisconsin homecoming was a seldom and short-lived one.

The Madison native’s brief NBA career was headlined by a couple of moves as he logged stints with the Orlando Magic, who selected Gaines with the 15th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and the Houston Rockets.

It was at the trade deadline during the 2004-05 season where Gaines was acquired by the Bucks, along with a second round pick, in exchange for Zendon Hamilton and Mike James.

Gaines’ time with the Bucks lasted until the end of the 2005-06 season and he only managed to record 133 minutes of playing time across 23 appearances and averaged 1.2 points on 13-of-25 shooting from the field and was 1-for-4 from deep.

The Louisville product subsequently played overseas, as well as in the G League briefly, and now stands as an assistant coach for the Austin Spurs.
