Strengths

Above all else, Ramsey can flat-out shoot the ball. especially from long distance.

Certainly Ramsey’s glowing 3-point percentage while in Lubbock reinforces that fact and it’s the variety of ways, whether off the catch, relocating beyond the arc or running off of screens, that he can hit from that range that makes the Red Raider an alluring weapon alone.

Whether Ramsey will develop into a supercharged marksman hinges on his ability to hit shots off the dribble and that’s a different story at this point. But the valuable floor spacing and 3-point efficiency Ramsey brings off the ball is the main appeal in his game by a far margin.

Elsewhere, Ramsey’s physical frame and strength is a positive asset at this point and it, theoretically, could help him attack mismatches in the post, finishing through contact against opposing centers and slotting up to check wings and even forwards.

With his rumored 6’10” wingspan, that vision gets a little more clearer and Ramsey’s team defending and ability to rotate on that end of the floor does help him disrupt opposing offensive possessions, especially when protecting the rim. In his lone season, Ramsey amassed 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks by per-40 minute standards and a 2.5 steal percentage as well as a 2.5 block percentage.

As it stands, Ramsey’s profile as a 3-point gunner with some intrigue in terms of potentially becoming a capable defensive disruptor will make him an interesting prospect, should he keep his name in this class.
