May 15, 2019 vs. Toronto Raptors – Game 1 of Eastern Conference Finals

After rolling through the first two rounds of last year’s NBA Playoffs, the Bucks were ready to meet their match in the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The tense and thrilling affair led to a 108-100 comeback victory in favor of the Bucks and Lopez was a chief force behind Milwaukee’s second half push to give them the first game in the series.

While Lopez struggled to hit the long ball for extended stretches, especially throughout the first half, he made up for it by giving his a shot in the arm as a roller to the basket, showing off his dribble-drive game and capitalizing on second effort plays at the basket where he supplied 12 of the Bucks’ 24 second chance points on the night.

Eventually, Lopez’s sharpshooting came in tow as he completely took over the fourth quarter to send the Bucks over the top, along with his work protecting the basket on the defensive end.

In the end, Lopez posted 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting (4-for-11 from beyond the arc, 1-for-2 from the foul line), 11 boards, four blocks, two assists and was a +7 in over 34-and-a-half minutes on the floor.

Heartbreak would ensue as the series went along, but Lopez’s importance to this Bucks era was forever cemented with such an integral performance.
