Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things Donte DiVincenzo needs to take the next step – 3-point shooting

To this point in his young career, DiVincenzo’s 3-point shot has yet to be a refined asset in his vast arsenal of skills and natural qualities. DiVincenzo’s a career 32.2 percent 3-point shooter and has shot 34.4 percent from beyond the arc on 221 attempts as a sophomore this year.

DiVincenzo’s shakiness with his shot since coming into the NBA certainly differs from how he was billed coming out of Villanova as their spark plug scorer.

With that said, there have been some positive developments in regards to DiVincenzo’s effectiveness as a shooter and ability to space the floor within the Bucks’ system off the ball. Per NBA.com/stats, DiVincenzo hit 36.3 percent of his 160 catch-and-shoot triples before the season stoppage.

That could definitely improve, but with the mechanical improvements DiVincenzo has made in regards to his shot year over year, that’s quite the improvement on the 29 percent he hit on such shots during his limited rookie year in 2018-19.

Whether DiVincenzo will be able to offer up some shotmaking off the dribble remains to be seen, but at least things have trended upwards on this front through his growing time in Milwaukee.
