3 stats that show why Khris Middleton deserves All-NBA – Flirting with 50/40/90

Nothing shows just how remarkable Middleton’s play was this season more than the blistering efficiency he enjoyed scoring the ball.

And before this season was suspended, Middleton would have been firmly in camp of joining the elite 50-40-90 club that have been comprised by Hall of Famers and former Bucks teammate, Malcolm Brogdon. Alas, Middleton is currently one missed field goal away from compiling a 50-40-90 season and will hopefully continue his pursuit when the season possibly picks up.

But the combination of averaging .499/.418/.908 shooting splits and scoring a career-high 21.1 points per game this season only further magnifies just the rare company that Middleton was flirting with joining. Only Larry Bird, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitzki have averaged 20 or more points on 50-40-90 splits during an NBA season throughout the league’s history.

Again, one missed shot currently separates Middleton from joining the elite of the elite 50-40-90 club members. As gutting as that might be at this moment, Middleton’s chase for reaching historic efficiency and scoring production does have a chance of continuing down the line and all Bucks fans will hope he’ll be able to achieve that.
