Milwaukee Bucks NBA Draft Prospect Watch: Killian Tillie – Strengths

When Tillie is on the floor, he comes carrying an incredibly complementary package of skills on both ends.

What leads that all off is his marksmanship from deep as Tillie was a career 44.4 percent 3-point shooter during his time in Spokane. While Tillie was far from a high-volume shooter as he just attempted 239 triples over that span, the elite level at which he’s been able to stretch the floor certainly can’t be disputed, whether it’s in pick-and-pop situations or firing away off the catch.

But Tillie is more than just a smooth, high-level shooter and the threat of his shot opens opportunities for him to display his solid dribble-drive game. Put Tillie on the block or as a roller in pick-and-roll situations and he has a variety of moves and can use his strength to back down opponents and get his shot off near the cup. Per Hoop-Math, Tillie converted 71.8 percent of his scoring opportunities at the rim this season.

Aside from his inside-out scoring ability, Tillie is a very willing passer and adept ball handler who is capable of bringing the ball up the floor or setting up shop in either post spots and hitting open teammates in halfcourt situations. Tillie compiled a 1.30 assist-to-turnover ratio over his four seasons at Gonzaga.

On the other side of the ball, the former Bulldog is surprisingly agile with his feet, has active hands and can cover ground in help scenarios while offering up some solid rim protection. With his high IQ and great defensive awareness, Tillie is capable of disrupting plays and averaged 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks on a per-40 minute basis while at Gonzaga.
