Milwaukee Bucks: In search of the best Bucks player nicknames – Brook Lopez
We didn’t go that far into Brook Lopez’s Bucks stint to be decorated with a nickname that perfectly intersected his role for the team on the court and his affinity for all things Disney.
It was during Lopez’s breakout shooting performance in an early season win over the Denver Nuggets during the 2018-19 campaign where the seven-foot sharpshooter was bestowed with the nickname ‘Splash Mountain’ by a loyal Bucks fan on Twitter.
I feel pretty good about this nickname for Brook Lopez: Splash Mountain.

Paying an ode to the famed ride at Disneyland, the nickname immediately garnered Lopez’s approval when asked about it by Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in November of 2018:
"“I am pretty partial to that, honestly,” Lopez said with a laugh. “Guys know that I’m a pretty big Disney geek, a Disney nerd. I wear it with pride on my sleeve. I’ll roll with that one. If it keeps going, why not? That’s fantastic.”"
Of course, the ride in which Lopez’s nickname is derived from will be undergoing a major transformation as Disney announced last month, given the racially insensitive source material from the 1946 movie, ‘Song of the South.’
