Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting Donte DiVincenzo’s 2019-20 season so far – One big question moving forward
With how the season has unfolded, and with the way in which DiVincenzo’s role has evolved, it’s a certainty rather than a question that Donte will be an important part of the team’s rotation heading into the playoffs.
What remains to be seen is just how DiVincenzo will perform in that situation, handle the pressure, and ultimately contribute to the business end of the Bucks’ title challenge.
The injury that ended DiVincenzo’s rookie season prematurely meant that he was relegated entirely to the role of spectator during the 2018-19 and so this will be the first taste of playoff play for the Delaware native.
In spite of his lack of experience in that department, there is reason to believe that DiVincenzo is exactly the kind of player who will not only maintain his level in the postseason, but could even kick on beyond it.
Just before arriving in the NBA, DiVincenzo played a starring role for Villanova as they claimed a national championship, picking up the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award after a 31-point performance in the National Championship game.
To say that bodes well for how DiVincenzo performs in the limelight would be an understatement, and the hope will be that will only further bolster Milwaukee’s prospects of winning it all at Walt Disney World.
