Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting Robin Lopez 2019-20 season so far – Where Robin left off

Averaging the fewest minutes per game that he’s played since his rookie season, there’s certainly been a need for adjustment for Robin Lopez this year.

Having said that, Lopez has made that adjustment with minimal fuss, bought in to everything that the Bucks have asked of him, and further contributed to and energized the positive atmosphere in Milwaukee’s locker room.

Largely viewed as a natural fit for the Bucks’ defensive scheme, Robin has thrived on that end of the floor, joining Giannis Antetokounmpo, and his brother Brook in forming the most formidable grouping of interior defenders that any NBA team has at their disposal.

But it’s on the opposite end of the floor where Robin deserves most credit for buying in and trying to do his part to help the Bucks’ success. A non-shooter for the majority of his career, Robin has attempted 96 three-pointers to date this season, while making a healthy 34.4 percent of those long range efforts.

All combined, Lopez’s play makes for the profile of an ideal, selfless role player, and his value to the Bucks has far exceeded the modest cost of the contract he signed last summer.
