Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting Khris Middleton’s 2019-20 season so far – Where Khris left off
As alluded to above, Middleton’s form has been pretty imperious throughout the season. But what was arguably his worst patch of play arrived just before Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 and brought the season to a halt.
Middleton was one of many notable Bucks who didn’t play in the team’s final game against the Denver Nuggets, but in the four games before that he endured the closest thing to a shooting slump all season.
Going 31-of-77 (40.2 percent) from the field in that span, and 9-of-35 (25.7 percent) from deep, Middleton’s field goal percentage dropped to 49.9 percent, just below his 50/40/90 target.
More generally, though, not only has this season resulted in Middleton’s most sensational shooting season to date, but it’s also coincided with him taking on added responsibility more generally.
That has been evident in how Middleton has looked increasingly confident in handling the ball and creating for teammates, as well as what’s been a career season when it comes to cleaning up on the boards.
