Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting Khris Middleton’s 2019-20 season so far – One big question moving forward

For all of the conversation that will surround Middleton’s 50/40/90 bid when the season resumes, there’s only one thing that will anchor Middleton discussion when the season is done. Of course, that will be his playoff performance.

Middleton has a phenomenal history of three-point shooting in the postseason (44.6 percent for his career), but his all around game hasn’t necessarily been up to that standard on every occasion that he’s made the playoffs.

That was certainly the case in the Conference Finals last year, as although Middleton provided a strong defensive effort in guarding Kawhi Leonard, his own offense tanked as the Bucks just came up short.

Based on comments coming out of the Bucks’ camp in Orlando in recent days, Middleton may well be set to play a starring role in Milwaukee’s championship push.

Kyle Korver described Middleton as the teammate that’s looked best so far upon returning to action, as detailed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

"“I’ve been super impressed with Khris,” he said. “I think he looks great. I haven’t seen him move this explosively, change directions as well as he is right now. I think he really took advantage of his time.”"

Middleton’s play across the season to date has offered plenty of reason to believe that he could be better than ever in the postseason, and the Bucks will certainly need him to be if they’re to end their championship drought.

Having faced the prospect of free agency just over a year ago, that may well have been the most important juncture of Middleton’s life, but there’s little doubt that he’s now entering into a defining spell for his career and longer term legacy.
