Milwaukee Bucks takeaways from scrimmage win over Sacramento Kings – Light work for All-Star duo

After healthy shifts in the Bucks’ opening scrimmage win against the Spurs, Mike Budenholzer reiterated that his All-Stars wouldn’t even come close to being overworked as Milwaukee worked their way back up to game sharpness for the new season.

The reigning Coach of the Year stayed true to his word on Saturday as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton logged only 15 minutes each, but that’s not to say the pair weren’t incredibly effective in that time.

Both Giannis and Khris look relatively primed and ready for the return of competitive games, with just a little rust needing to be shaken off.

Antetokounmpo’s 2-of-7 shooting performance from the field wasn’t quite at his usual levels, but perhaps it was more valuable to see Giannis knock down his free throws with some welcome practice in that department.

The reigning MVP went an impressive 11-of-13 from the charity stripe, while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists to go with his 15 points.

Middleton also did yeoman’s work on the boards, grabbing seven rebounds to go alongside his 11 points on 3-of-7 shooting from the field, and a make on his sole three-point attempt.

The Bucks will need their best players at the top of their game in Orlando, and the early signs certainly point to that with Middleton and Antetokounmpo.
