3 things to watch for in Milwaukee Bucks’ return vs. Boston Celtics: Returning for real

With three scrimmages under their belts already, the Bucks have been busy working their way back toward game shape and the kind of conditioning they want to be in for the remainder of the season.

Still, there’s only so much those dress rehearsals can help the Bucks to ready themselves for the big show itself, and therefore they may find themselves tested at a far greater intensity on Friday.

Not only do the Celtics represent a major step up in competition compared to the Bucks’ three scrimmage opponents, but they come into the restart as a team that will be eager to finish the season on a high note and push for the strongest possible seeding. Beyond that, setting down a marker against Milwaukee will likely be a goal for Brad Stevens’ team too.

What’s interesting for the Bucks is that kind of urgency to win games certainly isn’t a requirement, although it may well be something they look to rekindle with so little time before the playoffs get underway.

On that front, close attention will be paid to how the Bucks’ approach their regular season re-opener, both in terms of their energy straight from the tip, and how they manage to lock in if it’s a close game down the stretch.
