Milwaukee Bucks: Will lack of fans affect players in Orlando? – Improved focus for players

Of course, for all of the potential drawbacks, one benefit from the bubble could be the increased amount of focus due to the lack of fan distractions.

According to Tim O’Donnell from Yahoo! Sports, NBA athletes are shooting both free throws and corner threes more efficiently than they were before the shut down.

It will be interesting to see if there is proof of a consistent increase in shooting percentage and if so, how much of an increase this brings.

There’s also the question of whether certain players could perform better without the added pressure from the crowd. As a Bucks example, could Eric Bledsoe produce a much better postseason performance without packed arenas of opposing fans heckling him?

With these factors in play, the remaining NBA season could be a mental hurdle for the players, but it could also be full of highly efficient scoring.

Players will no longer be able to rely on energy and motivation from the crowd. They will have to instead rely on their own skills. This will truly be a game of talent vs. talent on the court.

Will these games be higher scoring because of fewer distractions or lower scoring because of lack of extrinsic motivation and energy? We will have to see which factors play out as the season carries on, and particularly when the playoffs get underway.
