Milwaukee Bucks: Player grades from 121-106 Game 4 win over Orlando Magic

B. George Hill’s comments on the shooting of Jacob Blake after the game may actually have been the biggest and most important story to emerge from Game 4, but the veteran guard also produced a stellar performance on the court. Hill had nine points, six assists, two rebounds, and two steals, and most importantly had the complete reverse effect of Bledsoe in his minutes. The Bucks were an incredible +30 in Hill’s 23 minutes of playing time, which is encouraging given the greater challenges coming up down the line.. Guard. Milwaukee Bucks. GEORGE HILL

Milwaukee Bucks. PAT CONNAUGHTON. C+. Pat Connaughton did yeoman’s work on the boards, corralling five rebounds, as a strong series for him continues. This wasn’t the red-hot Playoff Pat of previous games, but with 2-of-4 shooting, there wasn’t too much to gripe about either.. Wing

DONTE DIVINCENZO. C+. Donte DiVincenzo produced a very similar performance to his good friend Pat Connaughton, grabbing five rebounds and adding in five points on 2-of-4 shooting. What did set Donte’s game apart was a breathtaking finish at the rim, though, as he controled his body well to drop in an acrobatic layup.. Guard. Milwaukee Bucks

Set loose again for what was a harsh ejection for simply defending himself in Game 3, Marvin Williams was back in action and looked very much in a groove. Williams has been much improved since the restart, and on this occasion he made all three of his field goal attempts, including two triples, and slotted in seamlessly to every lineup he was asked to be a part of.. B-. Kyle Korver racked up 10 points, with his sharpshooting ability continuing to look incredibly valuable for the Bucks. As much as Korver’s lack of mobility on defense will be an ongoing concern, he’s reliably a net positive for the Bucks as the threat he poses, at minimum, opens up the floor for his teammates.. Wing. Forward. Milwaukee Bucks. ERSAN ILYASOVA. C+. Ersan Ilyasova got seven minutes of run and was perfectly serviceable as Robin Lopez registered a DNP. Ilyasova certainly isn’t the answer for Vucevic defensively, but he may well be a better option than RoLo given how much the Magic center is living at the three-point line. As for offense a made triple and a mid-range jumper represented a tidy few minutes for the big Turk.

B-. A slightly frantic start to the game had the opposite effect on the scoreboard, and that will have left Mike Budenholzer hoping for a more composed effort from his team in what could be a series-clinching Game 5. More generally, though, the Bucks’ defense was quite solid and the game largely hinged on the wait for one of Giannis’ heavyweight teammates to step up to the mark. Khris Middleton got there eventually, and getting him back to his best with some consistency is likely the Bucks’ biggest concern at this juncture. Taking Robin Lopez out of the rotation was an interesting wrinkle, and one that ultimately proved to be the right call for this particular matchup.. Head Coach. Milwaukee Bucks. MIKE BUDENHOLZER
