Milwaukee Bucks: 3 frontcourt players to target in free agency – Patrick Patterson

Most Milwaukee Bucks fans might remember Patrick Patterson from his days with the Toronto Raptors, where he served as a viable rotational piece for years. With the veteran forward set to become an unrestricted free-agent, Patterson would fit right in with Milwaukee’s current roster makeup.

Spending this season with the LA Clippers, Patterson was one of many contributors to the team’s dynamic depth success. Although his role minimized midseason when the team acquired Marcus Morris Sr., Patterson still put together a decent campaign, averaging 4.9 points per game, shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 39.0 percent from behind the arc in 59 games.

Defensively, Patterson can take on some top-notch assignments as well, including guarding Milwaukee’s own Giannis Antetokounmpo at times this season. With that defensive prowess and offensive capability, the forward should be a no-brainer, low-cost free agent target for the Milwaukee Bucks. With Patterson and six other players on the Clippers’ roster set to become free agents, the 31-year-old is likely going to be the first one out the door.

The Bucks need a big man to play behind Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the 6’8″ Patterson fits the profile. Patterson’s versatility on both ends of the court will make him a valuable target in this year’s free-agent class, and Milwaukee should pursue him for a reserve role.
