Milwaukee Bucks: 3 frontcourt players to target in free agency – JaMaychal Green
Another member of the LA Clippers’ upcoming free-agent class, the Milwaukee Bucks should do their due diligence on JaMaychal Green. Although the 30-year-old has a player option worth around $5 million for next season that could see him stay with Los Angeles if he chooses, Milwaukee should look to target him if he hits the open market.
In various ways, JaMychal Green’s skillset is similar to that of Patrick Patterson’s, making both of them good fits. The 30-year-old Green averaged 6.8 points per game this season, connecting on 42.9 percent of his field-goal attempts and an impressive 38.7 percent of his 3-point shots. Aside from LA’s lethal bench tandem of Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell, Green was one of the more consistent contributors, not in the starting lineup.
Much like the rest of the Clippers, Green was no slouch on the defensive side of the floor either. His 6’8″ stature made him a versatile defender that could guard positions one-through-five, giving them another rugged defender to throw at opponents on a nightly basis.
The forward’s production this season has LA hoping that he will opt-in for another year, especially with a handful of players potentially leaving in free agency. Still, if he chooses not to, he will be a highly sought after player for many teams, and one of them should be the Milwaukee Bucks.
Green is not the player that nearly tips the needle for the Bucks, by any means. Still, his veteran presence and skillset make him a desirable fit for any team, particularly one with championship aspirations.
