Gauging the stock of the Milwaukee Bucks’ impending free agents – Sterling Brown

We start our stock watch off with a Bucks player who enters his first foray into free agency with many questions to answer, that being Sterling Brown.

I recently wrote about Brown’s restricted free agency in greater detail, but the young wing couldn’t have endured through more struggles than the level of which Brown displayed all throughout the 2019-20 season.

Now Brown heads into restricted free agency and the Bucks are first tasked with extending a qualifying offer of a little more than $2 million to the SMU product. After how much he struggled over his third NBA season, no one would fault the Bucks for thinking long and hard about extending such an offer to Brown, even as there has been reported interest in Brown before.

That stands as a first and crucial step in forecasting Brown’s playing future in Milwaukee and a whole new set of questions will arise if Brown does in fact remain a restricted free agent.

For all the flashes Brown has put together and playing at a position that is in high demand all over the league, the inconsistency that Brown has shown over his three years in the league remain the biggest hurdle facing him going into such a pivotal point in his NBA career.
