Gauging the stock of the Milwaukee Bucks’ impending free agents – Kyle Korver

The fit between Kyle Korver and the Bucks had been so obvious that it only made sense for the renowned sharpshooter to come to Milwaukee last offseason when he signed a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum.

Now with the Bucks’ season over and done with, Korver has a lot on his mind and he may eventually join Marvin Williams in retirement as he signaled at the end of their run in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Korver has openly discussed calling it a career before, even as recently as last summer, before ultimately coming to the Bucks to reunite with head coach Mike Budenholzer and play alongside the back-to-back MVP.

For what it’s worth, Korver showed that he can still play throughout his individual run with the Bucks this season. In his age 39 season, Korver played limited minutes throughout the Bucks’ run during the regular season and playoffs and hit 41.8 percent from three during the year and was 15-for-37 (40.5 percent) over 119 playoff minutes.

Expecting much out of Korver defensively is a tough proposition, but the seasoned veteran is still a capable team defender at times and under a supporting role.

With Korver expected to play under the same structure of deals at this point in his career, there’s nothing much more to play for than for the love of the game and to fulfill his goal of winning an NBA championship. We’ll just have to see if those factors will bring him back to play another season.
