Milwaukee Bucks: 5 shooting guards to target in free agency – Avery Bradley
Avery Bradley’s name on any free agency list gets a star next to it because he has a player option worth just over $5 million. If he accepts, he will play out the 2020-21 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. But if he opts-out, teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks should be in hot pursuit of the guard.
The Lakers are currently competing for an NBA title, but they are without Bradley, who opted out of the NBA’s restart. What kind of effect that decision might have on his future with the team or his desired price range on the market is unknown, but there is no doubt that Bradley can contribute to a contending organization.
First and foremost, Bradley has two All-Defensive team nominations under his belt, establishing himself in the upper echelon of defensive guards in the league. His forte defensively comes out at the 3-point line, where he has established himself as a top-tier perimeter defender. For a Milwaukee team whose Achilles heel is defending the deep ball, a player of Bradley’s capabilities would be a significant addition defensively.
That is not all, however, as Bradley’s career 36.4 shooting percentage from behind the arc makes him a legitimate threat on the offensive end as well. This two-way expertise from the 29-year-old makes Bradley an ideal target for the Milwaukee Bucks, but everything comes down to what he decides to do with his player option for next season.
