Milwaukee Bucks: 3 reasons why Bogdan Bogdanovic is an ideal fit – Floor spacing
The Milwaukee Bucks thrive off of the success of their shooters, which makes their reported interest in Bogdan Bogdanovic that much more compelling.
Thus far, Bogdanovic has always been a fantastic shooter over his three years in the NBA, particularly from behind the arc. Averaging 37.4 percent for his career, Bogdanovic’s fit with a Milwaukee team that lives by a “let it fly” mentality needs little justification.
Delve deeper into Bogdanovic’s shooting numbers and the benefits add up to Bogdanovic’s potential fit in Milwaukee. Per NBA.com/stats, Bogdanovic hit 40.7 percent of his catch-and-shoot 3-point attempts this season. And not for nothing, Bogdanovic was one of the most efficient mid-range marksmen as well where he sank 49.5 percent on such shots.
Despite building the foundation of their roster upon surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo with shooters, it backfired for them in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat. The Bucks collectively shot 54-for-165, a vile 32.7 percent, the most apparent shortcoming in their disappointing finish to the season.
The team is undoubtedly going to use this formula again next season, and a player with Bogdanovic’s stellar shooting would be a much-needed boost. Heaving 7.2 attempts from behind the arc per game this season, Bogdanovic connected on 37.2 percent of his 3-pointers.
Only three Milwaukee Bucks had a better percentage from deep on the season, those being George Hill, Kyle Korver, and Khris Middleton. Giving Giannis Antetokounmpo another lethal threat to kick the ball out to on the perimeter would certainly bolster this top-heavy offense.
